Non-destructive testing

The competence "Non-destructive testing" is the performance of technical diagnostics of equipment and structures for timely detection of dangerous defects, improving the reliability of industrial facilities and, as a result, minimizing the risk of industrial disasters.
Today, non-destructive testing is used in almost all industries (aviation, shipbuilding, nuclear industry, energy, railway transport, oil and gas industry, etc.) and its importance is becoming increasingly important all over the world.

The format of participation in the "Non-destructive testing" competence is individual.
The contest task is performed by the participant and evaluated by experts.

Completing and evaluating a task

Participants independently complete the task of each competitive module:

21 hours

  • 2 days for 8 hours.
  • 1 day 5 hours.

The results are evaluated by experts on day 4.
Experts are trained in verification methods and tools.
The minimum number of experts in the evaluation group is 3 people.

The contest task includes the following modules::

  • drawing up technological control maps using five methods;
  • detection of defects by visual and measurement control (VIC);
  • detection of defects by capillary control (CC);
  • detection of defects by magnetic powder flaw detection (MPD);
  • detection of defects by ultrasound control (UZK);
  • detection of defects by radiographic control (RGC);
  • preparation of reporting documentation using five methods.

  • 10% - Carrying out the IPC
  • 17% - Carrying out of the Narrow Access Control System

Each specialist is tested for the level of proficiency in professional knowledge and skills

Ad platform rules

  1. Work on the site strictly according to the competence plan.
  2. The operating time is monitored by a timer, which is controlled by the expert responsible for this.
  3. The participant's workplace should be free of foreign objects brought with them: phones, notebooks, headphones, smart watches, cases, bags, their own tools, etc.
  4. The organizer places at the participant's workplace: fountain pen, pencil, drafts, technical specifications, tools and equipment, competition samples.

On the championship site
  • During training, the participant interacts with their expert mentor.
  • During the task, if a question arises, the participant raises his hand and is approached by an expert (not a mentor), GE, ZGE or an expert on the task.
  • During the competition day, participants are not allowed to communicate with expert mentors when completing tasks.

Site operation plan

  • The competition plan is published, indicating the time and place of the championship.
  • The plan contains all the important information for Experts and Participants.
  • We start and finish on time. Our principle: "Seven don't wait for one."

Participant's workplace

  • The participant's workplace is equipped in accordance with the infrastructure sheet.
  • A description of the workplace composition and its content is described in the Technical Description of the competence.
